It has come to our attention that eight young people have been charged with terrorist conspiracy in connection with their protest activity outside the Republican Party convention in St. Paul, Minnesota. They are each facing terms of imprisonment of up to five years. Some of the protesters doubtless engaged in rowdy and disorderly behavior, but certainly nothing that was done by the protestors rose to the level of terrorism or terrorist conspiracy. We condemn these fabricated charges in the strongest terms. The Zionist, imperialist enemy is attempting to deter free speech and public protest by using such tactics.

The real terrorist conspirators were attending the convention. Both the Republican and Democratic delegates are planning further acts of terror abroad against Palestine, Iraq, and Afghanistan, and at home against American working people. It is these people who deserve at least five years in prison for terrorist conspiracy. Free the St. Paul Eight!
