A Look at the Documentary "October Cry" and its Zionist Objectives

--- Salih Manasra

Now that the screening of the movie titled "October Cry" is over and the dust could have possibly settled down one feels compelled to respond to the call by Mrs. Fathiyya Hussein of the Zionist-founded and financed Adalah center to attend and give applause to this project called "October Cry".

It is even more provoking, shocking and dismaying that such should occur at a time the Zionist tanks shell Gaza and the Zionist Air Force raids Palestinian refugee camps, at a time that the Zionist courts busy themselves giving "trials" to innocent Palestinians of Shefa'amer (who committed no crime but tried to defend themselves against the brutal and Nazi-style murder committed by a Zionist soldier of the colonial Zionist arm). While such events unfold Mrs. Fathiyya Hussein finds it completely fit to instead of calling upon the Arab masses within 1948 occupied Palestine to stand up shoulder to shoulder in defense of their brethren in Gaza, as well as those detainees of Shefa'amer, she instead calls upon them to attend and give applause to a Zionist project made first and foremost to serve the interests of the Zionist colonial system. Exactly as we have become accustomed to, whenever the Palestinian cause wins momentum and the Zionists respond by advancing their war machine, the "mainstream" media promotes all kinds of propaganda tools to justify the Zionists crimes and barbaric deeds. This movie made by a Zionist filmmaker should not be treated differently. The fact that the family of the martyrs and victims don't perceive it this way can be attributed to two elements. One is that their emotions and feelings are directed mainly at their befallen beloved ones. Second is that the state of the current general public political awareness is backward and heavily infiltrated by the many defeatist and opportunistic doctrines, such those perpetrated by the so called "Arab political parties" mainly the preacher of "israelization", the "Arab" member of the Zionist parliament Dr. Azmi Bishara, who is the spiritual leader of Adalah.

So to understand the real objective behind this Zionist project one needs to look at it and analyze it through the general context of the Arab-Zionist conflict and Western Imperialism project in our region beginning by raising several root questions? Is the Zionist legal system, which is colonialist and racist by design and nature, indeed capable of producing justice to the non-Zionists? Is it true or false that the so-called "struggle" of the martyrs' families through the Zionist courts has made justice come to life? Yet the most pressuring question revolves around the national identity of the Arabs within 1948 occupied Palestine and the true nature of the struggle. Is the Zionist entity like any normal entity that only suffers social justice and so people's struggle should be directed at social equality and fairness or it's simply a colonial settler entity and therefore the real struggle should be directed at NATIONAL LIBERATION?

I won't argue such matters with the advocates of "israelization” of the Arabs within 1948" neither would I argue with sold out Zionized Arabs or Arab Americans. Those are a normal product of the imperialist project in the Arabia. History teaches us that they, like the VICHY; ARAB VICHY FOR THAT MATTER following liberation, will be dumped in the big dumpster of history.

The point we are trying to make here is to help the ignorant and shortsighted among us to see things clearly and not to look through a narrowed angle.

Foreign domination hinges on two key pillars.
1- "...liquidation of all the population of the dominated [region] thereby eliminating the possibilities for cultural resistance."
2- "Imposing itself without damage to the dominated people--that is to harmonize economic and political domination of these people with their cultural personality."

Now it's clear that the Zionist project in
Palestine was founded on option one. This why hundreds of Arab cities and villages were destroyed, thousands were killed and Zionists still strive to empty Palestine
of its Arab population. However, as such strategies and acts didn't win them complete hegemony, they try to implement option number two. However, since history knows no single successful example implementing it, they try to come up with new theories such as that called "progressive assimilation" of the native people, which turns out to be only a more or less violent attempt to deny the culture of the people in question.

Following the severe failure of the Zionists to accomplish complete domination through option one the "mainstream" Zionists, sometimes referred to as "progressives", are trying to accomplish complete domination through option two. So the Arabs within 1948 occupied
Palestine would have to go through a process of assimilation while the rest of the Arab would have to go through a process of cultural change where the Zionist entity would be accepted as normal entity.

The struggle within 1948 Occupied PALESTINE has been manipulated to become a struggle for social equality, and therefore millions of dollars are being pumped into such channels. Adalah is just one example of such.

In particular, the Zionist lobbyists in the US have been alerted following the OCTOBER uprising and favored to relax political and social repression practiced against Arabs of 1948 occupied Palestine with the hope to eliminate the possibility of Arabs revolting "violently" against the Zionist ruling system. No wonder that the big advocates among Arabs of social equality are those self-seekers who deny the Arab identity of Palestine and already recognize themselves as "Israelis" at a time the "Israelis" want to get rid of them.

So to cut the long story short this Zionist project called "October Cry" is aimed mainly at:

1-portraying "Israel" as an entity that is undergoing fundamental change ,attempting to achieve social justice for all - which falls in complete harmony with the well knows Zionist propaganda of "Israel being the only democracy in the Middle East"

2-forcing the Arabs within 1948 occupied Palestine to channel their struggle through the Zionist-controlled directions such as courts, legal system, and to distance it from any people-led national struggle.  This involves making such struggles into a state-citizenship related issue, rather than an integral part of the struggle of the entire Arabs in the region against foreign domination through an imperialist project as a step towards assimilation. That’s why they help founding all kinds of the so-called NGOs, which is nothing but a modern form of domination and hegemony but in a style adequate for the 21st century.

Such wish will, however, be continuously challenged as Zionism in a whole is based on the Anti-assimilation theories. Otherwise, Jews could have assimilated in the countries they belong to. This is a critical point to take a note of since Zionists always wanted to be a distinct group so they preserves their capitalist interests and never wanted assimilation. Even in the old days of
Germany, back in the 19 century, Germans were hostile to "Jews" because of this anti-assimilation principle, as one learns from the writings of Johann Gottlieb Fichte.

Most importantly is that Arabs will never accept to live as slaves in their own homeland, and their culture is way too strong for them to be abolished by the Zionists. Therefore, all attempts to foil cultural resistance among Arabs will bear no fruits.

Finally, the Zionist state can not be other than what it is, a colonial settler state. Therefore, no matter how hard some Zionized Arabs would manipulate the struggle in
Palestine, it will always certainly get back on the right track of NATIONAL LIBERATION: Those who have already fallen in love with Uncle Sam and Miss Zion would need to bear responsibility of all consequences of such decisions.
