The importance of a Missile Program-Lebanon and the DPRK as Examples

What has changed in the preparedness of the Lebanese resistance since 1982 is the highly advanced missile program it has acquired.

The birth of the Hizbullah resistance as well as the Lebanese resistance forces in general that landed the victory over the Zionists in May 2000, driving the enemy out of southern Lebanon traces its historic roots to its birth in the aftermath of the defeat of the Palestinians and the PLO in 1982.

"Israel" which had waged an all-out invasion of Lebanon in 1982, led by Ariel Sharon had established for itself two objectives.  First was to drive the Palestinian guerrilla forces out of Beirut, which materialized with the surrender of Yasser Arafat and his exile into Tunis.  Secondly, the hoped to  establish a military buffer zone in south Lebanon, along with a mercenary army known as the Lahd army, which patrolled and protected the Zionist enemy's border in northern occupied Palestine from there on to the year 2000.

It was during this time period that the Lebanese resistance front against " Israel" was organized and became active.  Out of the ruins of the 1982 defeat and destruction that took place in Lebanon, including the loss of Lebanese territory to Zionist occupation, it was during this time that the heroic resistance fighters from all political backgrounds began to organize active resistance against the occupying forces and their reactionary traitor Lahd mercenary army.  They selflessly began launching brave attacks in the south of Lebanon.

Amongst those fighting were members of Hizbullah, Palestinian organizations, and Jamoul (the front for the Lebanese Communist Party who were amongst the first to attack the Zionist occupying forces in the south of Lebanon).  Many of these freedom fighters fell martyred or were captured as prisoners by the Zionist enemy.

It was also at this time that members of a splinter group, which had broken off of Amal, the Shiite organization in Lebanon formed a new organization with Iranian backing named Hizbullah.  This organization was determined to ruthlessly fight the Zionist and American enemies.  They victoriously launched a brazen American hostage-taking campaign in Lebanon, which grabbed imperialist and world attention.

It was this group, led by its new leader Hassan Nasrallah (who succeeded the assassinated previous leader), who would take lead in the thunderous charge of the Lebanese resistance with great determination and excellent preparations.  This effort would eventually culminate in the landmark victory of May 2000, the driving off of the Zionist army from southern Lebanon and the complete dismantling of the Lahd traitors.

Following the May 2000 victory, Hizbullah would concentrate mainly on developing its missile arsenal unknown to the American and Zionist enemies or anyone else in the world for that matter.

Between 2000 and 2006 Hizbullah had secured modified Chinese missiles that would prove fatal to the Zionist enemy in its aggression on Lebanon in July 2006.

In the emerging summer of 2006 the Palestinian resistance would capture a Zionist soldier during successful resistance activities in 1967 occupied Palestine .

The Zionists in retaliation would encircle the Palestinian city of Gaza, in an operation called "Summer Rain", and commit daily massacres against the helpless Palestinian civilians. These futile acts of Zionist terrorism were an unsuccessful attempt to pressure the resistance fighters to release the captured prisoner.

It is during this same time in July of 2006 that a well planned Hizbullah resistance operation into northern Palestine would capture two Zionist soldiers and kill some 8 soldiers in a daring and highly successful raid.

Both the Lebanese and Palestinian resistance planned to exchange the soldiers with thousands of prisoners held in Zionist prisons. Amongst whom notably Samir Qantar from Lebanon and some 10,000 Palestinian prisoners suffering in Zionist prisons.

The enemy, led by Ehud Olmert, launched an all-out aggression war against Lebanon under the excuse of demanding the freeing of the captured soldiers, as a whole devastating Lebanese infrastructure and killing some one thousand civilians and wounding several thousand more.  The real objective of this reactionary aggression was to liquidate Hizbullah.

Hizbullah now backed by a sophisticated missile program launched a relentless bombing campaign into depths the enemy was shocked to discover.

The US imperialists, eager to protect " Israel" sent smart bombs to the Zionist enemy to confront tunnels prepared by the Lebanese resistance which would score tens of hits amongst advancing Zionist soldiers into the south of Lebanon.  Later they would run a crazed political effort to blackmail a political solution to get rid of Hizbullah.

The objectives of the Zionist aggression against Lebanon become quickly clear. Stop the missile capability of Hizbullah, liquidate its leadership and disarm it.  The Americans pushed for a political "solution" to the conflict that aims to disarm Hizbullah. The resistance blocks this with daily victories on the ground bringing to a halt an "Israeli" advance.

The military objective of the Zionist enemy retracted in order to establish a 5 mile buffer zone so as to push Hizbullah rockets north of the Litani river.  Its strategy now relied on commando units to target the leadership of Hizbullah.  At the same time it sought to punish the Lebanese civilians severely for backing Hizbullah.  The idea is if the Lebanese people and its government were to pay in devastated infrastructure, economic losses, and number of civilians killed, wounded, and driven out of their homes that this would in turn make them an instrument of pressure onto Hizbullah to stop its attacks on the Zionist enemy and pave the way to disarm it.

In fact the political maneuvers of the US and "Israel" of the last six years between 2000-2006 already tried to use Lebanese reactionaries in an anti-Syrian platform to force the liquidation of the resistance option in Lebanon and to create a pro-American and pro-"Israeli" Lebanese government that is hostile to Syria and in harmony with the New Middle East plan the American imperialists were weaving for the region. This plan would gain security for " Israel" and launch an attack on Syria.

All the political attempts at liquidating the resistance in Lebanon failed.
There was only one option left and that was an all out military attack of Lebanon by "Israel" and backed by the Americans to finish off Hizbullah. Consequently, both the Americans and "Israelis" began preparing for that forecast to be carried out in September-October 2006.

On the other hand, instead of the Lebanese people turning against Hizbullah they rallied around it.  Even the Lebanese government itself made itself allied with the resistance. This had become a Lebanese patriotic duty.

With Syria withdrawing from Lebanon, the Lebanese launched an all out campaign to bolster national unity and succeeded in driving off the reactionary elements led by the March 14 forces and imposed a pro-resistance agenda on all political currents in Lebanon. This led to a unified fight against " Israel".  It also resulted in  a culture where safeguarding the resistance, led by Hasan Nasrallah and Hizbullah, was now a Lebanese patriotic duty and one that must be observed by all Muslims and Christians alike.

What shocked the enemy and became an additional slap in the face surprise for the Americans and Zionists was Hizbullah's tremendous success on the battlefield and its high level of military preparedness.

Hizbullah armed with a missile program was now able to create a balance of power with the Zionist enemy on the Lebanese front that dealt it fatalistic blows which it shall not quickly recover from.

This missile program acquired with modified Chinese technology was capable of evading the radar of Zionist naval ships and exploded two ships off of the coasts of Beirut and Sour cities in a show of devastating force against the enemy.

The missile program Hizbullah had now in its possession following its 2000 victory had landed a successful and devastating bombing campaign against the Zionist enemy driving over 1 million of its settler-colonialist pigs into bomb shelters in a relentless barrage of rockets that scored tens and hundreds of killed and injured over a short month period.

Huge economic losses were incurred, massive public panic, and a state of confusion amongst the now shattered image of the Zionist military generals who were all taken by the shock of military failure. Zionist "wisdom" was now being doubted by their own people and media outlets.

Now it has become possible to tell the Zionist enemy if you bomb the Southern suburb of Beirut we shall bomb Haifa.  If you bomb Beirut we shall bomb Tel Aviv.  Finally, the enemy would pay a price for targeting any Lebanese city with the targeting of its own cities by the resistance missiles.

This sophisticated missile arsenal also acquired the anti-tank technologies bought from Russia and Europe. The European MILAN anti-tank missile, for example, was able to penetrate the before impenetrable armored Merkeva tank and to score numerous hits amongst its crew member that shocked the enemy.

The six-year period had created a balance in power in military means available to the resistance capable of instilling a defeat on the Zionist enemy.

Of course this is in addition to the unconquerable will of the fighters of Hizbullah and its leader Hasan Nasrallah that would refuse defeat against " Israel".  Ever since 1982, Hizbullah has had this will and fierceness in battle, that even the Zionist soldiers and officers have been forced to confess to.

Hizbullah, Iran, and Syria unleashed a blitzing media campaign to report on the losses of the enemy in battle for which the enemy media outlets had tried hard to conceal.  A primary example of this was the enemy's insistence of lying about its daily casualties and the loss of its two naval ships.  The result was that even the Zionists themselves believe Hizbullah more than they believe their own propaganda as testified to by their own opinion polls.

The unity of the Lebanese people and government around Hizbullah and the regional protection it is afforded from Iran and Syria were all important factors in its victory.

The Americans and Zionists are now badly defeated in Lebanon .

A Quick Look at the Democratic People's Republic of Korea

We finish this article with a quick parallel to the importance of the missile program of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) that has been in the news recently.

The United States continues to run war maneuvers against the DPRK and to seek to isolate it on the international scene.  It maintains military bases in South Korea and prepares for an aggression against the DPRK, including the possibility of military invasion.

The only real deterrent to the Americans are two factors: the missile program of the DPRK and the will and determination of Songun Korea to defeat the Americans should they commit the foolish act of invading the DPRK.

We have seen on the Lebanese front the importance of maintaining a military balance with the Zionist enemy.  The DPRK must maintain a military balance with the US.

The US arms the reactionaries in south Korea with the most sophisticated of weapons. It launches daily spy campaigns against the DPRK.

Consequently, the DPRK has no choice but to bolster its defenses. The Koreans need not only missile capabilities, but missile capabilities that can act as a deterrent to south Korean comprador and Japanese militarist ambitions of aggression, but also as a deterrent to the US its self.

The true defense of the DPRK will mean that if the US is foolish enough to attack Pyongyang then the DPRK has the right and obligation to attack San Francisco.

The US must understand that a war on the DPRK will cost it dearly, and that will include retaliation against the US cities themselves.

The equation in the imperialist dominated political world is simple. You hit us we shall hit you back ten times harder. That is the surest defense of the integrity and sovereignty of a nation. That is why it is essential for the DPRK to develop and maintain its missile program.

These are precisely the important lessons we must all learn in engaging and confronting imperialism and Zionism.

What made the Americans sleepless in Seattle , was the fact that the DPRK has recently tested its long-range missile with much bravery and wisdom. This means that  the US is within reach as has been Japan.

This is really  why the Japanese and American imperialists are so furious and launch the most dishonest of propaganda campaigns against the DPRK in that little puppet American-dominated social club called the United Nations.

The United Nations will not protect the Korean, Lebanese, Palestinian, or Iraqi
people.  Only a deterrent anti-Zionist and anti-American missile program will do the job.

Now we must stand by Songun Korea  as it continues to go ahead with its nuclear program towards more development and encourage other nations of periphery facing aggression to do the same.
