NACAZAI STATEMENT ON THE ELECTION IN IRAN
By Kevin Walsh, Editor of NACAZAI
We at NACAZAI do not pretend to know with certainty whether or not there was fraud in the recent election in Iran. We certainly are not taking the word of the imperialist media at face value on the matter. The result of the election and how it was obtained, however, are Iran's internal affair, and it is for the Iranian people to resolve this without outside intervention. Certainly the imperialist powers are in no position to criticize electoral fraud. Fraud has been known to have occurred in imperialist power elections, and even when there is no overt fraud, the entire electoral process is set up so that only those with access to large sums of money and the support of the imperialist media have any chance of winning. The imperialists have no business criticizing anyone else's elections as "undemocratic."
To those Iranians who are not imperialist lackeys and who honestly believe they have been disenfranchised, we caution you that generating discord and disorder when your country is threatened by a major imperialist power puts the country in grave peril. Have no illusions that the British, the Americans, and the Zionists have any intentions of "liberating" you. There is no such thing as comprador national self-determination. When you criticize your government, be sure to also condemn the imperialist powers who are trying to use this issue to weaken the country so that your criticism is patriotic, not comprador. Don't talk to foreign journalists. They will only distort your views and goals, and this is not a matter for foreigners to resolve.
To the Iranian government, we support you against any imperialist invasion and imperialist subversion, but you also need to make self-criticism for the actions you have taken in the past and which you continue to take which have strengthened imperialism in the region and contributed to the danger you now face. If you had shown genuine solidarity with Iraq in 2003 and since then, instead of behaving with hegemonic opportunism, it's unlikely either Iraq or Iran would be facing imperialist occupation now. Encouraging Shi'a sectarianism to try to carve a sphere of influence for Iran in the Arab world does not genuinely strengthen Iran. All it does is make Iranians and Arabs more vulnerable to your common enemies--Zionism and imperialism.
To the anti-imperialist peoples of the world, we urge you to support the Iranian people against any attempts by the imperialists to take over Iran. Condemn the Iranian expatriates who demonstrate in imperialist country capitals as the traitors they are. Denounce all attempts to start imperialist war against Iran or impose more embargoes or sanctions.
