Shame on Kyrgyzstan!
Afghanistan is a landlocked country, and if it weren't for the cooperation of its neighbors in using their territory, or at least tolerating violations of their airspace, there is no way the imperialist armed forces in Afghanistan could continue to remain supplied and therefore continue to function. A modern army can't "live off the land" the way 19th Century armies could. Helicopters, airplanes, tanks, and APCs require frequent refueling, and fully automatic weapons and quick-firing artillery require frequent resupply of ammunition. The comprador governments of states near Afghanistan share the guilt with the USA and its allies for violating Afghanistan' s sovereignty. PARLIAMENT DECIDES TO LET U.S. USE BASE FOR SUPPLIES
Bishek, Kyrgyzstan-- Kyrgyzstan said Thursday that a deal allowing the U.S. to continue using a Kyrgyz air base to ship military supplies to Afghanistan was done to aid the fight against terrorism.
The agreemant, an about-face four months after Kyrgyzstan ordered American forces out by August, won unanimous parliamentary approval.
