The Moroccan association of Human Rights condemns the arbitrary prohibition of the public authorities in Rabat of its act of solidarity with the Lebanese and Palestinian people.
The offices of the sections of the Moroccan Association of Human Rights based in Rabat, Salé and Temara decided to establish a pavilion at the Mamounia Square in the Rabat headquarters as a solidarity with the Lebanese and Palestinian people for the ordeal both are enduring in their confrontations with the Zionist entities and the American imperialism. In this pavilion Palestinian products and others of the Association should be presented and a discussion on the dimensions of the Zionist and imperial attacks in the Middle East should take place.
An office of a section of the Moroccan Association for Human Rights in Rabat had initiated a permission application for the establishment of the pavilion in the headquarters in Rabat, Salé, Zemmour and Z'ayr on the 8th August 2006. After a long waiting throughout the 8th and the 9th of August 2006, a decision prohibiting the establishment of this stand came in an oral form and without any justifications. In front of this incident, indeed collective sections of the Moroccan Association for Human Rights in Rabat, Salé and Temara strongly denounce this arbitrary decision to forbid the establishment of a solidarity pavilion for the Lebanese and Palestinian people while both are exposed to the most dangerous Zionist and imperialist attack.
As a matter of fact, questions were raised as to the sincerity of the public authorities when expressing their sympathy with both victims through national and international mass media.
The offices of the three sections also call the different national and international democratic and legal operators to condemn this arbitrary decision and to address petitions and letters of denunciation to the Minister of Interior, Minister of Justice and to the Prime Minister to remind them that this prohibition does not at all relate to a state of truth and law.
