President Kim Il Sung and Korea’s Reunification
On May 3rd and November 3rd of 1972, President Kim Il Sung met in a breakthrough meeting with delegates of south Korea; holding high-level political talks between South and North in a historic event of magnificent proportions.
In the meeting, the great leader highlighted the three principles for reunification of of Korean; long held separate by American imperialism and its stooges.
The three principles denounced flunkeyism, called for transcending differences in ideological, political ,and economical outlooks, and for giving precedence to the urgent task of national unity based on peaceful reunification.
These three principles of independence, national unity, and peaceful reunification became the foundation of the efforts of the Korean people for reunification.
The Americans had continuously sabotaged the efforts of the Korean nation for reunification.
Keeping in the tradition of the hated Japanese imperialists and now American imperialists, the historical method of colonialist powers that invade and occupy other nations is to divide and fragment. Thus in destroying the national fabric of nations, they foment internal conflict. This enables the occupying foreign power to oppress the local population and to steal its resources.
The three principles of unification advanced by the great leader Kim Il Sung gave birth to the historic North-South statement for reunifying the Korean nation.
This July 4th will mark the 35th anniversary of this historic statement.
As the Korean nation proudly marches on the path of reunification based on the three principles of reunification, all progressives in the world celebrate with them in great happiness and hope.
March on for one Korea, proud sons and daughters of the North-South statement, according to the three principles of reunification.
