Kim Jong Il guides the times by Songun

New guidelines were urgently required in the situation prevailing towards the close of the last century when the anti-imperialist independent forces of the world underwent serious ordeals and challenges owing to the collapse of socialism in the former Soviet Union and other East European countries and the arbitrariness of the imperialist allies which availed themselves of the collapse.

This historic task was accomplished by Kim Jong Il. He has deepened and developed the Songun idea authored by President Kim Il Sung, the most prominent great man of the 20^th century, and thus advanced it as the guidelines for the new era.

As is well known, President Kim Il Sung created the Juche idea which is recognized as the immortal guiding idea of the cause of mankind's independence. The Songun idea rooted in the Juche idea means defending the independence of the popular masses in reliance on great military strength, advancing the revolution by force of arms, beefing up the motive force of revolution with the army as a hard core and advancing the cause of socialism as a whole.

The Songun revolutionary idea formulated anew by Kim Jong Il as the philosophy of arms, the principle of the army over the working class and the idea of the main force of revolution mirroring the demand of the times and developing revolution provides perfect answers to all the theoretical and practical questions in accomplishing the cause of independence.

The justice and vitality of the Songun idea are amply proved by the practical experience of north Korea. Thanks to the Songun idea north Korea has been unaffected by any worldwide political turmoil, and demonstrated its dignity as a strong independent country no powerful enemy dares to touch.

It is self-evident that when all the countries aspiring for anti-imperialist independence apply the Songun idea any despotism on the part of the imperialist forces will be of no avail. Therefore, the Songun idea is studied in many countries.

It is natural that he is praised by the world as a thinker and theoretician representing the present age and as the brain of mankind.

The Songun politics of Kim Jong Il is the politics which finds solution to all problems of revolution and construction on the principle of giving precedence to military affairs and advances the cause of socialism as a whole with the army as the pillar of the country.

As has been clearly proved by the orbiting of a man-made satellite in August 1998 and the declaration of the possession of nuclear weapons in February 2005, north Korea has already become an invincible country.

The Songun politics has brought about an epochal turn also in accomplishing the cause of reunification of the Korean nation which has remained divided for over half a century. The historic June 15 North-South Joint Declaration, a milestone of Korean reunification, was signed and published in Pyongyang in 2000.

The leader is lauded widely in south Korea as well for not only defending the peace of the Korean Peninsula by Songun but also opening a wide avenue to national reunification. Those south Koreans who distrusted and antagonized north Korea for no good reason say that the Songun politics is the greatest and vital politics and that they should follow the leader who opens the bright future of the nation with his Songun politics. They are now turning out actively in the reunification movement.

North Korea vanquishes the power diplomacy of the imperialists, based on the law of jungle with the Songun diplomacy backed up by a powerful deterrent. As the course of the recent north Korea-US confrontation eloquently shows, the diplomacy of north Korea which counters the hard line of ¡°the only superpower¡± with the toughest policy wins the admiration of the world.

Frankly speaking, none of the 200-odd large and small countries in the world, except for north Korea, speaks out against the US and resolutely baffles its strong-arm tactics and arbitrariness.

By employing Songun diplomacy north Korea not only defends and lusters its sovereignty and dignity but also leads the peoples of progressive countries in their struggle for the democratization of international relations and the independence of the world.

Therefore, many statesmen and social figures of the world visit north Korea, saying that north Korea gives them great vigor and courage by legitimately resisting ¡°the only superpower¡± under the uplifted banner of Songun, and that they should find the course of their action in Pyongyang.

   Just as everything follows the sun, so mankind does follow the Songun leader.
